Q Do I need to take any health precautions prior to travelling
to South Africa?
A In general no health precautions are indicated
for visitors to South Africa. Check with your local doctor or travel
agent if they have any recommendations when you book your flight.
Most of South Africa does not require Malaria precautions. A notable
exception is the Kruger National Park region.
Q Is South Africa a safe country?
A South Africa has unfortunately received some
negative press internationally due to high crime statistics, and
as a result many visitors are concerned about personal safety.
The recommended accommodations on our site are all located in safe neighborhoods and have excellent security 24/7. Taking basic precautions will in most instances ensure that you are completely safe during your stay. If you decided on a self-drive option for the touring part of your visit, always check your planned route with the car hire company to make sure you avoid areas which may be dangerous.
Q What else can I do while in South Africa?
A South Africa is a fascinating country with a
world of experiences and sites to offer the visitor. Go on safari,
enjoy whale viewing, play golf,
tour the winelands… whatever your interests there’s
so much to entice you out into the countryside. South Africa has
awesome natural beauty – from the bush to the beaches - and
doesn’t forget great shopping and entertainment venues!
