NOSE SURGERY - RHINOPLASTY
This surgery can successfully alter the size and / or shape of your nose.
Self-consciousness related to nasal asymmetry, bumps, flaring nostrils, or an unusual shape or size can be addressed and eradicated following a successful rhinoplasty procedure.
In general, this procedure is performed under general anesthetic, when incisions are made within the nostril region, allowing the skin to be peeled pack. The bone, cartilage and tissues are altered to the specific requirements before the skin is repositioned and stitched. You can expect to wear a ‘splint’ for around a fortnight after surgery while the nose heals into its new shape.
In some instances the surgery required is relatively minor and can be done under a local anesthetic.
You should expect a certain amount of swelling and bruising for the first 7 to 10 days after surgery, although it is not unusual for this to last longer with some patients.
The full benefits and effects may only be really appreciated up to 12 months after the procedure, so patients need to exercise patience!
