NECK IMPROVEMENT SURGERY
Both aging and excess fat can cause unattractive features on the neck.
Liposuction can be used to treat a fat neck, removing the extra fatty tissue and making the skin taut. This may be done under a local anesthetic. Three small incisions – under the chin and each ear- are made. Patients will need to wear a neck band, but recovery is fairly quick.
A neck lift is often performed in connection with a face lift.
In less severe cases Dr Wilkinson uses a scarless suture suspension technique.
An anterior cervicoplasty is recommended for male patients who wish to get rid of the 'dew-lap' – lose fat and skin on the neck. This is also a simple operation done under local anesthetic, like the regular neck lift for women.
