DENTAL PROCEDURES
A lovely smile can enhance and open up any face, taking it from attractive to truly beautiful.
Discolored, chipped or uneven teeth can cause embarrassment.
If you tend to hide your smile behind a hand for fear of exposing your teeth then the right dental procedure could be a life-changing experience for you.
Think how great you will feel with the total confidence to enjoy life without worrying about your teeth!
Discoloration
One of the most common dental complaints, discoloration of the teeth can be caused by smoking, diet, age, genetics, health problems or certain medications.
The following procedures are available to combat this problem:
Bleaching
Peroxide gel is applied using filling trays designed for your own
bite and made to protect your gums.
The procedure is done under the care of a dental surgeon.
Power Whitening
The latest in teeth-whitening technology, power whitening uses laser-type
light and a specialized gel product to clean and de-stain teeth.
This gentle and highly effective treatment is totally safe and involves
little to no discomfort to the patient. The procedure produces instant
results which intensify over the following days, and it takes a
mere hour at the dental surgeon. Apart from a slightly heightened
sensitivity for a day or two following treatment, there are no side
effects.
The Power Whitening procedure, while not altering the tooth structure, does remove surface stains while oxidizing the stains trapped within the tooth. The results do vary from one person to the next.
The results are long lasting (over a period of several years) and it is possible to maintain the effect with regular home-based treatments.
Replacement of Teeth
Prosthodontics
Used for the improvement of the form and function of single or numerous teeth, prosthodontics is a specialized field of dental surgery which can be used in a wide variety of unique cases.
Missing or broken teeth can be replaced, resulting in greatly improved mastication functionality, comfort and general oral hygiene as well as improved self-image.
Crowns
Used to replace a missing tooth, a crown is a cemented restoration
covering or replacing the crown of a natural tooth. It is made to
reproduce the shape and contours of the original tooth.
A crown allows protection of the tooth from further damage, while simultaneously enhancing the aesthetic appearance.
Implant
Implants are used to replace missing teeth either for aesthetics
or improved functionality. An implant is a cylindrical screw –
shaped object manufactured from titanium. Bone adheres to titanium
which means the implant is securely anchored.
Veneer (Facing)
When a portion of the tooth is replaced by porcelain or ceramic,
this is referred to as a veneer or facing.
Veneers can modify the tooth shape, size, color or position while
preserving the basic structure of the tooth. Minimal preparation
of the tooth is required.
Bridge
A bridge is a fixed prosthetic that is attached permanently to the
teeth adjacent to the missing teeth.
Dentures
Dentures are artificial teeth made to replace missing teeth. Dentures
can be easily removes by the patient.
